Jets over Pampa 2024

Jets over Pampa 2024

After four consecutive canceled editions (twice due to corona, once due to drought, and once due to roadworks), we were looking forward to finally organizing Jets over Pampa again.

On Saturday, July 20, and Sunday, July 21, 2024, our 30th edition finally took place!

There were fewer pilots than in previous editions. The uncertainty of recent years and the forced new location of the pilot camping site did not work in our favor. Also, Brexit and all its consequences make it very cumbersome and expensive for pilots from the UK to travel with their aircraft.

Nevertheless, the atmosphere among the present pilots was very good. Their smaller number meant they could make many more flights without having to face long queues.

The audience had not forgotten us after 5 years and visibly enjoyed the beautifully executed flights.

Saturday was incredibly hot, resulting in a severe thunderstorm in the evening that caused damage in various places in Limburg. Unfortunately, our tent, where the aircraft were to stay overnight, was heavily damaged. Fortunately, the planes were not damaged, and aside from some soaked club members and pilots, no one was injured.

Without this tent, all aircraft were packed up for the night. The bad weather forecast for Sunday made many pilots decide not to return.

With just a few stray raindrops, Sunday was actually good flying weather. The pilots gave their best to put on a good show for the large audience.

Our thirtieth Jets over Pampa did not go entirely as planned, but we can still speak of a very successful weekend!

Finally, we would like to thank the pilots, all our staff, and the sponsors.

Jets over Pampa 2024 - WinnerThe winner of Jets over Pampa was Kamil Simon from the Czech Republic with his Mil Mi-24 'Hind' helicopter, powered by a turbine. The aircraft is detailed to the finest points, and Kamil's flying skills completed his displays.

You can find the full list of winners here.

This year, the trophy did not exceptionally go to the winner, but to Ryan Schroeder (and company) because they took care of the parked planes during the storm and prevented significant damage. Additionally, Ryan flew a spectacular display with his Voyager (also the largest model).

TV Limburg was also present and they made the following report:
